A few rules about what should you wear to a job interview

When we talk about company apparel, we take into account not only the business clothing that you wear to office everyday but also that clothing which you should wear to your job interview. If you are really serious about getting a good job, then it is better to keep a few things in mind. The aim is to create an amazing first impression, which can work wonders more often than not. These rules have become quite common in the corporate world and are referred to as “dress for success.”

Firstly, whatever business clothing you wear, don’t forget to include a suit. You can wear suit with pants or skirt, but a business suit is a must. If you are wearing a shirt underneath the suit, make sure the shirt is either white or of some other light color. Shirts with vertical stripes are preferred more as they mirror the male dominated business culture.

The second rule is all about shoes. Never go for open toed shoes or sandals. If you are uncomfortable with very high heels, then avoid it. You should be able to walk properly. Close toed shoes having moderate heels are your best options.

Thirdly, you should always be careful not to wear anything that can send wrong signals to the interviewers. Your company apparel reflects your taste and speaks a lot about you.

Fourthly, avoid wearing anything that is too loose or something in which you are so comfortable that it reflects on your attitude. It often sends wrong message to interviewers that you lack in discipline and that you are self-indulgent. Denim shorts, loose sweaters, jogging suits are a strict no-no.

Fifthly, be careful about the color you choose. Stay away from bold shades like orange, red or green. Blue, gray, beige are the safest colors to be worn to an interview.

Staple office wear for men

Workwear forms an important part of your work life. There is no point in denying that appropriate business apparel is one of the keys to success in business. Whether you want to impress your boss, or have an interview or need to conduct a big meeting at work, your office attire is going to speak a lot on your behalf. Your wardrobe depends to a great extent on the dress code of your office. In any case, you must look well groomed and crisp.

Your business apparel should be well pressed and even if wearing a suit is not mandatory in your office, it is always better to own a few of them so that you are prepared for any special event in your office. Classic single breasted two button styles are the best options.

Blazers are perfect outfits to be included in your wardrobe. If at times you don’t feel like wearing suits, you can go in for blazers. They are also perfect for your casual days, and you will easily become the centre of attention of every one in your office.

Casual pants go nicely with sports jackets, and it is always advisable to keep a stock of dark colored pants and khakis.

Shirts are obviously the staple of the wardrobe. When it comes to shirts, white colored shirts or light colored shirts are the best option. Pinstripe shirts are not bad either. A few sports shirts can also be included in your wardrobe for casual events.

For winter, sweater vests and pullover sweaters should be stocked in your wardrobe. It is better to stick to neutral colors.

Always remember that your workwear should not be flamboyant and loud, as that would go against the decorum of office wear.

Different Types of Corporate Uniforms

Last day we had discussed the pros and cons of having to wear corporate uniforms to work daily. There is a big difference between the kinds of uniforms used by employees based on the industry they are working for.

Industrial workwear are made using quality fabric keeping in mind the usage. Most often the material used to create these apparels is fire resistant and it so created to provide protection as well as comfort to the industrial workers. These industrial work apparels are durable, light in weight, highly functional and stitched to perfection. Most industrial work wear can further be segregated into coveralls, overalls, protective gear, pants, lab coats, jackets, vests and shirts. Sometimes, even specific head gear is prescribed and might be supplied with these industrial work apparels.

The next in the line of uniforms is the one which is meant to be worn by hospitality workers. Hospitality work wear has the features which include fine fabric, coordinated design, accessories to match, exquisite design and a high degree of comfort as well as functionality. This segment includes work wear like catering uniforms, t-shirts, overalls, restaurant staff uniforms, tunics, chef’s uniforms, nursing uniforms, waiter’s or butler’s uniform, etc.

There is another class of workwear- called corporate workwear which includes office shirts, casual dresses, formal dresses, office coats, jackets, pants etc. These could be monogrammed or printed to customize it as per the requirement of any corporate house.

A very special care goes into creating the dress code of any aviation industry staff. With so many private airlines spurting across the world, each airline company wants to give its company uniform a distinct identity which can help their employees, the ground staff and cabin crew as well.

Suit Separates- Reasonably Priced Business Suit and Fitted Suits as an Option Instead of Bespoke Suits

Most men would agree that if they have to wear a suit to work almost every of the working week, it can be taxing on their comfort as well as their pockets. Also, buying prêt business suits are not always available in the right sizes. Bespoke and tailor-made suits are expensive. So what options are you left with now? You need not worry as there are many online stores now which cater to a wide range of such clients who require suit separates and do not want to spend a fortune on their work-wear.

Also, there are men, who are not in the perfect of shapes and when it comes to buying suits online or from stores are faced with another difficulty. They might need the jacket/blazer and trousers/pants in different sizes. Some men who are top heavy might need jackets wider at the shoulder or the chest. Similarly, men who are broader near the waist might not be comfortable in the trousers which can be paired with jackets which is their right size. For them, there are stores which offer suit separates which can be color coordinated and blended. With the right shirt and tie, you would be able to complete your professional look and that too, at almost half the cost you would have to spend had you got it tailored.

Remember, when it comes to your corporate apparels, they are as important as your business communication and can say a lot about the professional you are and how important your personality and impression means to you. Do not settle for anything which does not give you the right fit or makes you appear dull and drab as your professional image as well as business attire can also speak volumes about how seriously you take your work!

Corporate Suits- Simple Tips to Help You Select Suits which ‘suit’ Tall and Skinny Frames

If you believe that skinny men look good in almost anything…well, you are wrong! Ask them to sport a suit in lighter fabrics and see for yourself how it appears to be hanging from their lean frames. Heavier fabrics like wools, tweed, worsted wools, etc are more ideal for you if you are tall and ‘lanky’. Also lighter colors add volume to your appearance and do avoid vertical stripes as they will only add the illusion of height.

Invest in a good jacket with three buttons as this is ideal for men who are tall, more so those with ‘longer’ torsos. You can either choose to opt out of “vents” in your jackets or play safe with a single vent. You need to look fuller than you are and it does not create a good impression if your clothes when worn by you, look as if they have been hung from a clothes-hanger.

For men with longer legs which look like they would go on and on….go for pants with longer rise. This implies that the distance between the waistband of your pants and the crotch should be more than normal. This will give you a fairly proportionate look. As for accessories, do not go for shoes that make you look taller. Your shirts should also be in lighter hues and do not ignore the fact that striped shirt will make you look leaner than you already are.

A fitted suit has no substitute and shorter hems as well as sharp lines are ‘in’. So, do invest in a power suit which makes you look your part in this game of power dressing!

Corporate Suits- Simple Tips to Help You Select Suits which ‘suit’ Bulky Frames

Men who are on the bulky side are always wary when they want to try out something new, especially so when it comes to corporate apparels or work wear. It is a wrong notion that suits add volume to your frame. If you choose the fabric and cut wisely, it can in fact help you to camouflage your flaws.

The adage that “less is more” applies in the realm of men’s business suits and work suits also. Yes, go for the fitted suits which not only help you streamline your appearance, they make you look sleek and suave. Today’s trend is towards a fit which is slimmer, more so near the shoulders, and also hemlines which are shorter.

Vertical stripes go a long way to make you look trimmer by creating an illusion of height. If stripes are not your thing then just go for simple solids. Darker, more solid colors work wonders to make you look lighter! Opt for the classic black or dark navy if you are confused. With these colors, you can never go wrong.

When it comes to the right jacket, go for the one with two buttons as this can suit any body type. Also, single vents allow the necessary movement without attracting any undue attention to the bulky backside. You can opt for a continental or Italian suit which is vent-less at the back as it will have a further slimming effect. A three button blazer will also make you look visibly taller, if you keep the top button undone. British suits also never go out of style and are good for a broader frame.

With the pants or trousers, avoid the pleats as it draws attention to the bulky belly or pelvic region. Plain fronts work for all body types and more so with those who do not want to look bulkier than what they already are.

Use these simple tips which will never let you go wrong with business suits and your corporate work wear.

Corporate Apparel with Leather

Leather is one of the most stylish fabrics available so far. Leather apparel can make even corporate clothing look fashionable. The aesthetic appeal and durability of leather is superior to other materials, and it exudes a sense of style and class that other materials can seldom match. Varied textures and a wide range of colors enhance the appeal of leather apparel, although in corporate offices you have to choose black or pastel shades to blend in. New techniques have led to lighter skins that can be used round the year. Leather apparel could be made to incorporate the company’s logo and thus you can make cost-effective promotional attire from leather as well.

Leather apparel does not easily wrinkle and is comfortable for extended wear. The structure of leather apparel fibers makes it wind-resistant, and it is ideal as motorcycle apparel. Leather apparel is ideal for layering, particularly in cold climates. Choosing good leather apparel requires a good understanding of its various features.

Leather apparel is a hot fashion trend as men’s apparel as well as women’s apparel. For men, leather apparel extends to lambskin leather pants and leather jackets. Motorcycle apparel like motorcycle leather caps and biker jackets are available too. Leather is a luxurious material and its value is dependent on its softness and texture.

If you want to attract attention and also look different from your colleagues, opt for leather apparel. It’s an expensive material, but well worth the value.
