Different Types of Corporate Uniforms

Last day we had discussed the pros and cons of having to wear corporate uniforms to work daily. There is a big difference between the kinds of uniforms used by employees based on the industry they are working for.

Industrial workwear are made using quality fabric keeping in mind the usage. Most often the material used to create these apparels is fire resistant and it so created to provide protection as well as comfort to the industrial workers. These industrial work apparels are durable, light in weight, highly functional and stitched to perfection. Most industrial work wear can further be segregated into coveralls, overalls, protective gear, pants, lab coats, jackets, vests and shirts. Sometimes, even specific head gear is prescribed and might be supplied with these industrial work apparels.

The next in the line of uniforms is the one which is meant to be worn by hospitality workers. Hospitality work wear has the features which include fine fabric, coordinated design, accessories to match, exquisite design and a high degree of comfort as well as functionality. This segment includes work wear like catering uniforms, t-shirts, overalls, restaurant staff uniforms, tunics, chef’s uniforms, nursing uniforms, waiter’s or butler’s uniform, etc.

There is another class of workwear- called corporate workwear which includes office shirts, casual dresses, formal dresses, office coats, jackets, pants etc. These could be monogrammed or printed to customize it as per the requirement of any corporate house.

A very special care goes into creating the dress code of any aviation industry staff. With so many private airlines spurting across the world, each airline company wants to give its company uniform a distinct identity which can help their employees, the ground staff and cabin crew as well.

A guide to wearing the perfect jacket – Corporate Fashion for Working Women

With the approach of fall/winter it is time to turn to jackets. The entire outfit is completed by the addition of a jacket. However, it is important to find ones that complement and flatter your body-type.

There are some basic things to do while shopping for them. Make sure that the sleeves are slimly stitched. The waist should be nipped so that it gives an instant shape to your curves. Make sure that the sleeves are not too long; the length should be so that it just hits your wrist otherwise it will look ill-fitted.

For people with more specific requirements, there are some other tips to use as well. For the curvy female, the perfect style is a semi-fitted one. Do not indulge in styles with buttoned-up necks or cropped shapes. Single-breasted ones with closure just below the bust are the best for you. For those with a slightly boyish frame, find mid-hip length fitted ones. Do not wear something square jacket or boxy. If you have narrow shoulders, opt for tailored cuts with defined shoulders. Do not wear those with sleeves that start just before your shoulder’s edge. Peaked shoulders add structure. Small sized shoulder pads also look good. Women with broad shoulders should go for longer and unstructured ones. Avoid breast pockets, shoulder details or epaulets. Deep armholes, dropped sleeves, v-necks and small lapels will do wonders. If you are on the shorter side opt for clean, shorter, fitted and cropped ones. Minimalistic detailing and narrow lapels will look good on your frame.

Follow these tips and add charm to your corporate image.

For the “Corporate” Mom-to-be- A Maternity Business Suit Which Exudes Style and is Comfortable too

A couple of weeks back we had discussed about the right and comfortable corporate wear for the mother-to-be who is a working woman and has to juggle her domestic front as well as her career with the same élan.

If the woman who is expecting a child soon, is working in a corporate world which has strict do’s and don’ts when it comes to work-wear and style, she might have to abide by the rules and yet play safe where her comfort is concerned. Women in the top rungs of the corporate ladder are used to wearing pant suits or skirt suits, especially when they have to meet clients or make presentations on a regular basis. For expecting mothers, there is a wide range of professional and stylish maternity clothes available today. If a woman is working her way through the third trimester, which is not a novel scene anymore, then she might even have to invest in a maternity business suit.

Just as there are jeans and trousers which are styled, keeping in mind the comfort level an expecting mother would need during her nine-months, there are business suits which are specially designed for these women and are created in soft and stretchable fabrics which come with adjustable panels. Some well-known designers also cater to this niche market related to maternity business/work wear apparels. They create jackets which can allow a woman to move freely and also support her wider frame as the pregnancy progresses through the second and third trimesters. Women should opt for suits which have longer jackets as it will help them camouflage the growing bump. Also, the trousers should not be too fitted at the thighs as it would restrict free movement.

For the moms-to-be who do not want to compromise on their style, there are many online websites which can allow them the ease to shop for awesome professional maternity clothing including maternity business suits and suit separates.

How to Strike the Right Balance between Smart and Comfortable Dressing with your ‘Power’ Wardrobe

Power dressing has now become the latest buzzword in corporate world. Power dressing has changed according to time. More smart and colorful dress codes have now replaced the old-fashioned and dull as well as monotonous corporate attire of the professional woman. The woman today, wants to be in complete control of both her work as well as professional lives and she asserts this fact with her style statements. According to most fashion experts, colors play an important role in creating the right professional image.

Before selecting the right work wear for your office, you should be well aware of the work environment and the ‘unwritten’ dress code of your company. You should dress in a way that makes you look competitive and authoritative. You should choose a suit in one of the following five solid colors such as brown, black, gray, navy, white and pastel. This will give you a professional look. You can also opt for a business casual look which lets you experiment with colors and lets you create your own style with jackets and cardigans. You can combine tailored jackets and sweaters with silk prints to create a business ‘casual’ wardrobe for yourself. The stress in this line of corporate wear is on comfort as well as style.

Accessories should not be ignored either. Sometimes accessories can make or break an entire look or image. You cannot afford to wear shoes which are torn or unpolished. Boots might be okay with a business casual look, but if you are sticking to a more conservative dress code, you must wear shoes which are not open at the toes. Sport shoes which look unkempt and dirty with laces which are not tied properly do not create the right professional impression either.
