Corporate Suits- Simple Tips to Help You Select Suits which ‘suit’ Tall and Skinny Frames
If you believe that skinny men look good in almost anything…well, you are wrong! Ask them to sport a suit in lighter fabrics and see for yourself how it appears to be hanging from their lean frames. Heavier fabrics like wools, tweed, worsted wools, etc are more ideal for you if you are tall and ‘lanky’. Also lighter colors add volume to your appearance and do avoid vertical stripes as they will only add the illusion of height.
Invest in a good jacket with three buttons as this is ideal for men who are tall, more so those with ‘longer’ torsos. You can either choose to opt out of “vents” in your jackets or play safe with a single vent. You need to look fuller than you are and it does not create a good impression if your clothes when worn by you, look as if they have been hung from a clothes-hanger.
For men with longer legs which look like they would go on and on….go for pants with longer rise. This implies that the distance between the waistband of your pants and the crotch should be more than normal. This will give you a fairly proportionate look. As for accessories, do not go for shoes that make you look taller. Your shirts should also be in lighter hues and do not ignore the fact that striped shirt will make you look leaner than you already are.
A fitted suit has no substitute and shorter hems as well as sharp lines are ‘in’. So, do invest in a power suit which makes you look your part in this game of power dressing!
