Organic Clothes Mean Eco-Friendly Apparel

It is not hard to find eco friendly clothing and organic apparel nowadays. If you choose to wear eco-friendly clothing as corporate apparel or buy organic clothes for your family and friends then you will be saving earth’s natural resources. More than 50 million pounds of chemicals and pesticides are used every year on cotton fields to produce commercial cotton. In the US 25% of pesticide is used only for cotton cultivation. Pesticides have a harmful impact on the soil as it continues to deplete it and then it contaminates water. Organic clothing like organically raised bamboo, hemp, and cotton is a better alternative for sure.

Organically grown cotton does not use pesticides and it will be non-toxic free. For pest control, a natural option like the lady bug is used. With organic clothing, you will not only be making a fashion statement but will also become socially responsible. While purchasing eco-friendly clothing, you need to bear certain things in mind.

You must remember that clothing made from nylon, acrylic, and other kinds of synthetic fibers have plastics. Petrochemicals are used for making them. Plastic fibers can have toxic effects on human beings. Thus, a better option is rayon clothing as it is made of cellulose that is found naturally in plants. However, petrochemicals are employed to break down cellulose in order to turn it into thread.

Select clothing made from different natural fibers, but even the manufacturing of natural-fiber clothing may have an adverse effect on the environment. For instance, cotton is supposed to be natural material with a high level of contamination as pesticides and fungicides are used to grow cotton. However, when cotton is grown organically to manufacture eco-friendly clothing, this problem does not exist any more. Organic-cotton cultivators don’t use pesticides, and most of the manufacturers of organic-cotton apparel use dyes, which are less toxic.
