Corporate Knitwear for Him and Her

Knitwear, which you can even use as your office wear, has many options to impart a great professional touch to your corporate wardrobe. It can vary from a cardigan, a vest, a simple day jacket, a pullover and even a scarf and knitted gloves.

If you are a woman who loves to keep up the feminine factor when it comes to her office wear can try V-neck cardigans in mono colors this winter. These are knit out of wool which can stand machine washes and can be paired with trousers, skirts and even dresses. You can even opt for a color coordinated vest beneath the cardigan. The colors that go down well with your formal office apparels or corporate casuals are maroons, browns, blacks, beiges and even blues. A two way zip cardigan imparts a jacket look and does well to keep you warmer also. You can opt to zip it down and wear it like a shrug if it tends to get warmer inside your office premises. A wrap cardigan also looks awesome on a curvy and feminine figure. It comes with long sleeves and a buckle in the side.

For the men, they can experiment with a V-neck pullover which comes with long sleeves. Color range which would merge with a corporate work wear code can include burgundy, charcoal, navy, black, moss green and even beige. Another nice idea of a pullover is one which comes with elbow patches and is created out of 50% acrylic and 50% merino wool from Australia. Men also look suave and professional in V-neck vests or sleeveless pullovers. They can be used either over office shirts or even under pullovers and jackets if the temperatures turn down to give you shivers!

The Key to Success when Appearing for a ‘Creative’ Job Interview

Working in the finance or banking sector is not the same as working for the media or publishing sector. These creative jobs require working odd hours and racking one’s brain for new, innovative ideas. If you are from this field and have to appear for a job interview, there are certain pre-requisites you must keep in mind.

The basics that matter with all corporate work wear when you appear for a job interview also apply here. Keep yourself tidy and well groomed. Use a deodorant and keep your fingernails trimmed and clean. Ensure that there is no body odor or bad breathe. While a business suit might not be essential for you if you are from the creative field, jeans or denims are a strict ‘no-no’. Steer clear of corporate casual attire or casual wear that you would normally prefer wearing for weekend outings with friends. You must keep the color coordination also traditional. That is to say that you must not experiment with loud and vividly bright colors. Opt for shirts with stripes or checks. Wear well ironed trousers in sober colors. You can opt for those with a plain front and yes, cardigans will also do.

If the weather is a little cooler, you can try sporting twill trousers and match it up with an under-collar sweater in muted tones. Sneakers do not look too good and since it’s your first impression that counts, you should rather opt for shoes with tie-up laces, loafers or even suede boots. Even if you know that the company where you are appearing for an interview prefers corporate casuals, when you are visiting the place for a job interview, do not dress in casuals and make an attempt to impress the interview panel with your work attire and your professionalism.

Corporate Casuals for Women Should Not Be Taken ‘Too Casually’

When it comes to women’s work wear, most women as well as corporate houses prefer pant suits or skirt suits in dark hues. But, with time, there is a new genre of business clothing which has emerged to become very popular with the ‘fashionista’ in the corporate world. Many women prefer corporate casuals to strict business clothes when they are attending job interviews, trade fairs, career fairs and on their daily work routines. The main reason behind this is the comfort factor. Corporate casuals help a woman look trendy, professional and she does not have to compromise on the feminine factor.

Tailored shirts, blouses which are made to order, skirts which are either knee length or go just below it, dressy pants or slacks, dresses which are two pieces and can be complimented with a jacket, the list is endless. A woman is spoilt for choice when it comes to corporate casual work wear. But then what should be avoided to work?? Anything which shows too much skin, deep necklines, casual jeans, shorts, clothes which are too high on the ‘bling’ quotient should all be avoided. Miniskirts and micro miniskirts not only make the wearer uncomfortable, they do not professional either. Sleeveless dresses and blouses are acceptable, but noodle straps look too casual. Sequined outfits also look too flashy and are good for office parties but not when one is attending a seminar or meet.

When it comes to accessories, women cannot afford to ignore the fact that the right accessories can make or break a look. High-heel shoes can be worn if one is comfortable in them. Flip flops and worn out sneakers are something which should be totally avoided. Bags should not be too flashy and vibrant as they can distract anyone. Even the jewelry should be kept chic and minimum. No long necklaces and chandelier earrings, please! Whether you prefer strict business clothing or corporate casuals, your corporate apparel should define your personal style and offer maximum comfort possible.
