Power Dressing- The Key to Success when Appearing for a ‘Conservative’ Job Interview

If you have to appear for an interview you must believe that the first impression which you create always matters a lot. These days with specialization becoming the call of the day, the right work wear or corporate attire for a job interview is not just as simple as wearing your suit, a tie and a polished pair of shoes.
If you are going to be interviewed for a conservative job profile, power suits are more for you. The best colors for you would be black, charcoal grey or darkest blue. The shirt you choose should be white and crisply ironed. Your shoes should be black leather again and should come with laces. Accessories always play a very important role in getting your look together. So do accessorize it with cuff links, a tie preferably in solid colors and a good leather briefcase or laptop bag. Use cologne and keep your nails short and trimmed. Your hair should be sleekly styled and should not look like an untidy mop. If you want to exude an air of confidence as well as responsibility, you must look well-groomed too.
Power suits are generally made to order or tailor made suits in dark brown, blue or even charcoal grey shades. Black also looks good but the current trend prefers the charcoal grey color as black is more apt for funerals and tuxedos. One can spice this power suit with a mildly dressy tie but again, to play it safe, it is ideal to go for solid colors.
So next time, you are appearing for a job interview for a finance or sales job with regard to a senior profile, remember the key lies in ‘power dressing’!
